Dr. Tonjua Williams became St. Petersburg College’s seventh president on July 3, 2017. A St. Petersburg native, Dr. Williams began her tenure with the college in 1986, rising through the ranks in a variety of academic and administrative roles.
Prior to becoming President, Dr. Williams was Senior Vice President for Student Services from 2013 to 2017. She has served in nearly every area of the college: Provost, Associate Provost, Director of Special Programs, Program Coordinator, Academic Advisor, Recruiter, Senior Accounting Clerk and Adjunct Faculty.
Dr. Williams earned a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration from Barry University, a master’s degree in Counselor Education from University of South Florida, and bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Humanities from Clearwater Christian College.
Recently, she was awarded the “Passing the Torch Leadership Award” by the Tampa Bay Chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women Inc. In 2016, Dr. Williams accepted to the prestigious Aspen Presidential Fellowship for Community College Excellence, making her part of the inaugural class of the Aspen Presidential Fellows. She is a graduate of Leadership Tampa Bay, Leadership St. Pete, the Chancellor’s Leadership Program and the Executive Leadership Program at the University of Florida.

Darcie Glazer Kassewitz has been the driving force behind many of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ innovative, forward-thinking fan engagement and community outreach initiatives, retail activation, and facility design. She is focused on ensuring that the Buccaneers and the Glazer Family Foundation create a lasting positive impact on the Tampa Bay community.
In recent years, Kassewitz has implemented initiatives designed to strengthen the organization’s connection with all segments of its fan base. In 2015, she introduced the Women of RED, a pioneering program focused on enhancing and improving the fan experience. In its highly-anticipated debut season, Women of RED was called “the tipping point for a genuine connection to fans”, attracting thousands of women to major events that offered a wide variety of interactive experiences, exclusive behind-the-scenes access, and opportunities to interact with Buccaneers players and legends and current executives.
Established in 1999, Kassewitz leads the Glazer Family Foundation by identifying and creating programs that sustain positive social and economic development for families in underserved Tampa Bay area communities. Through a lead gift, the Glazer Family Foundation provided the funding necessary to open the world-class Glazer Children’s Museum in downtown Tampa as part of the Foundation’s ongoing dedication to children and families.
