About Eve Barrett
As the daughter of an immigrant, a twin, a wife, a mother, a highly-decorated U.S. Army veteran, 17-time worldwide marathon finisher, 4-time worldwide Ironman finisher, ‘Escape from Alcatraz’ swimmer, court reporter, firm owner, female entrepreneur, blogger, and podcast host, my story is complex, yet, inspiring.
A native of Maine, Eve J. Barrett received her court reporting degree in 1999 from Tennessee Career College, Nashville. Graduating in 20 months, she broke the school record for course completion. Upon graduation, she began her career working in the civil court division, as well as reporting various other aspects of litigation.
In April of 2018, Eve launched her newest venture, the mobile app Expedite, and then released another app called Scoof in June. Shortly after launch, Eve was chosen as a finalist and participated in the St. Petersburg College Business Pitch Competition, ultimately winning first place. Eve then attended a live casting call for Shark Tank in Atlanta, Georgia. Although she did not move on to the next round, she pitched her idea to Kevin Harrington, one of the original investors on Shark Tank. Eve is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Public Policy & Administration from St. Petersburg College.
As a proud veteran who served in United States Army from 1993-1998, Eve’s tours of duty include Fort Gordon, Georgia; Fort Hood, Texas; Camp Casey, South Korea; Frankfurt, Germany; and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Awards include Soldier of the Quarter, Texas; Soldier of the Year, Germany; Distinguished Honor Graduate and Iron Sergeant of the Cycle at Basic Non-Commissioned Officer Course, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medals, the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Medal. Eve is an avid Marathoner, three-time worldwide Ironman finisher, and is affectionately known as “Pink IronMom”.
